Iosif

The name Iosif is the Russian and Romanian form of the Hebrew name Joseph, derived from the roots Yosef meaning "he will add" or "he will increase". It first appeared in the Old Testament as the name of one of the 12 sons of Jacob, a prominent figure in the book of Genesis who rose to become a powerful vizier in Egypt after being sold into slavery by his jealous brothers.
