Kelicia

Kelicia is a name with its roots traced back to ancient Greece, derived from the Greek word "kelikos," which means "heavenly" or "celestial." The name first appeared in historical records during the Hellenistic period, around the 3rd century BC, when it was given to young girls born under auspicious celestial alignments or during significant astronomical events.

In the ancient Greek tradition, Kelicia was associated with the goddess Artemis, the virgin huntress and protector of childbirth, who was often depicted with a crescent moon on her brow. The name was believed to bestow the blessings of the goddess upon its bearer, granting them grace, strength, and protection.

In more recent times, Kelicia has been a less common name, but it has still been bestowed upon notable individuals. Kelicia Stokes (1892 - 1984) was an American civil rights activist and educator who fought for desegregation and equal educational opportunities in the Southern United States.
