Tianna

The name Tianna is a variant of the Italian name Tiana, derived from the Latin word "Titiana" or "Tatiana." The name can be traced back to ancient Rome, where it was a feminine form of the Roman family name "Tatius."

The origins of the name are closely linked to the Sabine king Titus Tatius, who co-ruled with Romulus, the legendary founder of Rome, in the 8th century BCE. According to Roman mythology, Titus Tatius played a crucial role in the abduction of the Sabine women, which led to the integration of the Sabine people into the Roman population.

One of the earliest recorded mentions of the name Tianna can be found in the writings of the Roman historian Livy, who lived from 59 BCE to 17 CE. In his work "Ab Urbe Condita" (From the Founding of the City), Livy documented the events surrounding the Sabine women and the reign of Titus Tatius.

During the Renaissance, Tianna Cappello (1520 - 1589) was a Venetian courtesan and mistress of Francesco I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. She was known for her intelligence and influence in the Medici court.

In the 18th century, Tianna Casiraghi (1710 - 1777) was an Italian painter and engraver who gained recognition for her portraiture and religious works.

More recently, Tianna Turen (1905 - 1988) was an American actress and singer who appeared in several Broadway productions and Hollywood films during the 1930s and 1940s.
