Weronika is a Polish feminine given name derived from the Greek name Βερενίκη (Berenike), which was composed of the elements φέρειν (pherein) meaning "to bring" and νίκη (nike) meaning "victory". It is the Polish form of the Latin name Veronica, which was popularized by the legend of Saint Veronica, who wiped the face of Jesus with a cloth while he was on his way to crucifixion.
